| Cornell Gunter's Coasters To Appear In Astoria Park
The Central Astoria Local Development Coalition (CALDC) Waterfront Concert Series is in full swing and the 25th anniversary celebration continues. The Cornell Gunter's Coasters will perform in Astoria Park on Thursday, July 26 at 7:30pm. This oldies group is apt to surprise you with their comedic beat. "Yaketey Yak", "Poison Ivy", "Charlie Brown" and "Along Came Jones" are some of the hits that can be expected to be heard that night.
Everyone is invited to the Astoria Park Lawn in Astoria Park, Shore Boulevard between the Hell Gate Bridge and the Astoria Pool, to enjoy some great music. There's no admission fee, no music charge. Just bring your family and friends along with a chair or blanket and sit back, relax and enjoy.
The Waterfront Concert Series will continue every Thursday night with some of the best-known artists in the business. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. On August 2 the Marvelettes will perform and on August 9 a performance by the Glenn Miller Orchestra will close the series.
The Waterfront Concert Series, presented by CALDC, is made possible through funding provided by City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr. through the city Department of Cultural Affairs and the following corporate sponsors: New York Power Authority, NRG, The Port Authority of NY & NJ, Astoria Energy Foundation, Time Warner Cable, Astoria Federal Savings Bank, Doral Bank, Kaufman Astoria Studios, North Fork Bank, Thomas M.
