of Newtown Road and 30th Street in Astoria were surprised and delighted to find that the restaurant's owner, Dino Redzic, with his brothers, Gianni and Tony, has bestowed even better food, wine and service on discerning diners with a new eatery, Momento Italian Bistro, on the same site.
The restaurant's official grand opening was celebrated last Tuesday with a number of local dignitaries and their representatives present. City Councilmember Peter Vallone Jr., whose 22nd Council District encompasses Momento Italian Bistro, brought his chief of staff, George Mihaltses, Administrative Assistant Cathleen Sims, and Public Relations Officer Andrew Moesel to the restaurant to herald the new addition to the Astoria dining scene, along with staff member Jonathan Chung and Chung's guest, Liz Wagner. Gazette Publisher Tony Barsamian was also present.

A unique feature of Momento's luncheon menu is the restaurant's lunch buffet. From Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. the lunchtime crowd can feast on salad of baby mixed greens, pasta of the day and a chicken or meat special. Pasta and chicken or meat specials change daily and given Momento's generous portions, at $6.95, this is a real bargain.
Momento also offers a 4-to-5:45 p.m. early bird special seven days a week, dinner from 4 to 10 p.m., Happy Hour 2- for-1 at the bar, also seven days a week, and on and offsite catering.
